My working assumption is that a writer wants the reader to respond emotionally to their craft. My feedback is always directed to that end, at the level of the sentence as well as structurally.

I provide a combination of developmental editing, line edits, and copyediting where needed. I have a strong preference for in-text feedback, so most of my work will appear in track changes and marginal comments within your pages.

After you have reviewed my feedback, I’m happy to provide a thirty-minute follow-up call––or comparable discussion by email––free of charge.

“I’ve had the privilege of Moa’s eye on my work for a range of projects—short and long. She is a meticulous editor on a sentence level and also advises me on how to execute the big-picture ideas. Working with Moa has improved my writing on the page and also how I think about writing. Her skillset—careful craft paired with sharp strategy—is brilliant and hard to come by. My work has benefited on every level from her gift with language and her precision; I would recommend her to any writer regardless of where they are in their process—at the inception of a project, or as they’re getting ready to publish. Moa is a wizard!”

“I was struggling to take a longform piece and turn it into a non-fiction book-length project. As a developmental editor, Moa offered actionable, big-picture advice of where and how to begin and gave tips on how to structure the first chapter. Once I had it written, she provided insightful line edits that sharpened my writing and strengthened my argument.”
